SHARED JOYS

There are many things that fill my life with light,
Simple little things that make us laugh with delight,
Each one a treasured moment, shared with love,
It may be seeing a rainbow, or hearing a turtle dove.
It could be some music wafting on the summer breeze,
Or the rustle of the wind among the tall gusty trees.
Every thought reminds me of you and our life together,
For we have loved through smooth and stormy weather.
Walking hand in hand, feeling the wind on our face,
Looking at the wild flowers in their simple grace.
Plodding on through trials, our strong love our aid,
Trusting in a loving God as together we often prayed.
No gift of great value, or jewel of priceless worth
Can be exchanged for the simple things that fill the earth.
For we share these things together, and know their great worth.
So let us always love a sun rise on a warm summer morn,
Love to see a blazing sunset, a deer with a new born fawn.
But of all t he things we share my dear, all the things we love
Our eternal love is my greatest joy, for we will share that up above.
