A True Valentine

Who is a true valentine? I asked
One cold and windy day.
He is someone very special
Who loves in a special way.
He need not be very handsome.
(But of course you are)
He need not be rich and famous
Or own a fancy car.

But he is a man of honour,
A man both strong and true.
One who’ll stay close by you
What ever you may do.
Your sweet heart and your friend,
Your loved one and companion
On whom you can depend.

There’ll be love light burning always
In his eyes just for you.
There’ll be words so kind and special
Said when your feeling blue.
Through the sunshine and your shadows
He’ll be right by your side,
There’s nobody quite like him
Across this world so wide.

So I know that your my valentine.
The one that’s right for me,
The one that’s extra special,
The one for eternity,
The one I chose in heaven
So many a year ago,
The one I wanted to be with
In the heavens and here below.
