I WONDER IF I COULD TELL YOU

I wonder if I could tell you
In simple words and true,
How much you really mean to me
And how much I love you too.


The phrase that could tell my feelings,
The words that could voice my care,
Would not be found in writing
But came to me by prayer.


For my love for you my dearest
Is a gift from heaven above,
And earthly words cannot be found
To express my eternal love.


But as we are just mere mortals,
Placed on this glorious earth
Please find in the words "I love you"
There true eternal worth.
