"IF I LONG TO HEAR"

If I long to hear the sound your voice,
I'll listen to the wind in the trees
Or walk down to the lake
And listen to the waves, and the gentle breeze.
I'll hear you in the song of the birds,
Or Von Weber's clarinettes pure sound,
I'll listen to my beating heart
For there yours will also be found.

If I long to see your smiling eyes,
I'll rise early and see the sun awake
Our world with beauty truly rare,
And know that shortly you will wake.
I'll see your eyes in my eyes dear,
For we are truly one and will always be.
No parting could bedim in my mind
That sweet love light that I see.

If I long to feel your touch my dear
I'll walk slowly through the falling snow,
And as the snowflakes caress my face
Then my heart will glow,
For it will be like your gentle touch,
Full of tenderness and special care.
I'll think of you feeling snow on your face
And then we'll be together, somewhere.
