When we were first married and you were in the army,
Miles away from home, you had a funny nickname
Which you were known by all your army buddies,
And that was Bruno, and I often played a silly game.
Although the nickname was for the tobacco you used,
I called you Bruno Bear and had one by my lonely bed.
And after I had said my prayers, Id cuddle him real tight
And think that you were by my side, in the dead of night.
Now we are always together, and no longer need to be apart,
I often think of Bruno Bear, I had in the days gone by.
And of our long and lasting love that passed the test of time,
And no longer need a toy, because you stay close to my heart.
But I give to you a Bruno Bear to add to our toys on the bed,
That will help us remember of the past fun we have had.
We will see him sitting there among the childrens toys.
It will be a reminder when were down, of all our many joys.
