        MINIATURE SPRING GARDEN
Yesterday for Valentines my sweetheart gave to me
A miniature spring garden, mostly in bud you see,
But this morning a narcissus and two daffodil bright
Were in full bloom and filled me with delight.

This spring assortment in is a bowl quite round,
With crocus, snow-drops, hyacinths are found
Mixed with those narcissus and sweet daffodil,
It means spring has now come to my windowsill.

These flowers will grow and flourish not just die,
When it warms up and spring comes rushing by
I can plant them in the garden, to grow once again,
My loved one is so thoughtful that is very plain.

I looked closer a moment ago and I could just see
Another flower almost opened waiting for me,
It maybe a snow-drop that will show her face,
Whichever one it is, twill be of beauty and grace.

The hyacinth is already smelling so very sweet,
The leaves folded back a blossom now I greet,
I think it will be a purple one, I’ll wait and see,
But whatever the colour it will be a delight to me.

Thank you for the pot of flowers that you gave
To me for Valentines, for seeing the flowers brave
Brought the realization that spring is now close by,
And those pretty flowers will often catch my eye.
