TOGETHERNESS

There is a gentle sweetness in our togetherness,
Every day we feel so close, share our happiness,
It’s like warm sunshine on the flowers and grass,
We feel such joy as each fleeting hour does pass.

We are blest now with very few goodbye’s,
Content together, hear our love’s sweet sighs
That comes from hearts united by eternal love,
Feet now swiftly wending to our home above.

Forty four years together has made us as one,
Thinking alike, wanting the same things done,
Sometimes no need for words to communicate,
Knowing exactly what is wanted by our mate.

It takes a lot of loving to build togetherness,
It takes a lot of living to honour and to bless
A union of kindred spirits bound by God above,
We have been truly blest by a great eternal love.

I pray we may have many happy years to come,
Growing in sweet togetherness until our journey’s done,
Then holding hands and stepping side by side we go,
To a heavenly home together, for we love each other so.
