A WET VALENTINES DAY

It started out with mist and rain,
Wettest Valentines we ever had,
Everyone looked as if in pain,
Faces long and all quite sad.
The rain turned to sleet and snow,
What on earth can happen now?
No one wants to go out to a show,
It makes everywhere dull somehow.
But come home to our house tonight,
I’ve made a big pot of very hot stew,
Warms you up inside just right,
Made a cake, heart shaped too.
Stay by the fires and a candle lit,
There’s room for quite a few to come,
The fire will cheer you as you sit,
Read or just chat and have some fun.
Welcome one and welcome all,
If the snow is heavy, draw up a chair,
Stay all night if tonnes of it does fall,
We are warm and full of human care,
Happy Valentines, whatever the weather,
Don’t be alone, find somewhere loving to go,
Home is the best place, however
Find good food, sit by the fire till it burns low.
