I WISH I COULD PLANT

What human pen or voice or painters brush can,
Even in simple measure, capture a setting sun
When it blazes in multicoloured splendour across the sky,
Birds silhouetted against the scene on their evening run.

When the sea screams and roars and wild breakers crash
On stone and wall, creating havoc in it’s relentless trail,
Can we understand the power from whence it came?
Or we dare set out on a mighty ship, the waves to sail?

Can we count the stars and sort out their nightly plan?
Or work out the very beginning of this vast universe?
No, it takes a greater hand than man’s feeble grasp,
Yet thousands have no believe in God, or Him curse.

I wish I could paint a picture, write and sing a song
Of all the wonders of this world given to us all,
I wish I could plant in the hearts of all men today
The thought that God loves everyone, what’re befall.
