IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE.

I would like a brand new car, big and bright,
A recreation vehicle long, sleek and slim.
I’d love and ocean cruise sail day and night
And buy gifts and clothes at every little whim.

I would love a great big house with lots of land
Lovely flower gardens and a stable for a horse,
I’d love a music room with a baby grand
And a full sized swimming pool of course.

Yet are these things of value to my eternal soul?
Will they count for anything when my life is done?
When I count blessings, count that which makes me whole
Will they be of worth to me? Make my victory won?

No, these things have no value, have no worth at all
No eternal consequence , won’t get me to heaven’s gate.
So I will turn my heart to precious thing so I’ll not fall
From the things that matter most in heavens state.

For the love in a heart that will forgive and forget,
A heart that will guide and not force even good
Upon another against their free will, but yet
Show the way by word and deed, as He would.

Live for the family every day, meet their every need,
Seek out the lost souls, both living and dead,
And work toward a heavenly home, where no greed
Can mar the way, remember all that Jesus said.

Come follow me, sell all that thou hast for the poor,
Save the lost sheep, bring him back to the fold,
Do not turn anyone away from your door,
Then He may call us friend and our hand hold.
