BLESSED EAST
The early morning dew awoke the sleeping flowers,
Arousing the birds nesting in leafy bowers.
The spider’s web was heavy with the early dew
Mading rainbows as the day arose anew.
The sun’s rays touched the lake with bright gold,
A thing of perfect beauty for us to behold,
No breathe of wind marred the picture of the lake,
But the stillness a wonderful mirror did make.
The mists swirled ore’ the still, tall grass
It seemed like another world as we did pass,
Then the sun herself began to show her face
Filling the world with radiant light and grace.
The summer sun wakes early and so should we
To see this beauty, a little glimpse of eternity,
For the east is blessed by the arrival of another Son,
Then His great millennial reign will have at last begun.
