LEGACY
When I was very small, Jesus stories were told to me,
I was taught to be on time, never selfish or greedy,
Taught to love my fellow men, help the weak and poor,
And never to turn a hungry person away from my door.

Then when I heard about the gospel and that great plan,
My teachings as a child made me want to learn all I can,
Now the gospel has been many years in my blessed life,
And has sustained me forty years in all my joys and strife.

What a legacy my parents left to me, teaching me to love,
Teaching me to always pray, be kind, know of God above,
Taught me to have a seeking mind, and never ever be cruel,
Now I have to leave a legacy, that gift now in others fuel.

Everything we do and say is a legacy of good deeds or ill,
So all of us should work every moment to do God’s will,
Let our children’s children remember us all with much joy
And so passing on a legacy of good to every girl and boy.
