“BE THEREFORE PERFECT”
Jesus said these words to His followers one day,
Would He say that if it could not come our way?
Often I’ve contemplated these words so sweet,
How can I a sinner this challenge truly meet.

Step by step and hour by hour we should endure
To overcome evil and depend on his great power,
We can be perfect in something’s as on we go,
By changing for good. constant improvement show.

If we want to reach heaven, perfection is our aim.
Give up the sins we love, be free from their shame,
For I am sure we all have sins we want to hold on to
That may be slowing the road to perfection for you.

One by one leave sins behind release a heavy load,
Plant both feet firmly to be along the perfect road,
See how well we travel up perfection’s steep hill,
If we closely follow the way and do the Father’s will.
