FANATICAL
Folks do not think it odd if you are crazy about old cars,
Or look through a telescope and gaze every night at the stars,
Watch hockey and baseball every single time they play,
Spend hours in the garden when warm weather comes your way.

But say that you go to church every Sunday and never miss
And enjoy religious things in the week, something is amiss,
You are not at all normal, even mad, or worse, a fanatic,
Never drink, or smoke, no coffee, where do you get your kick?

Some folks condemn and laugh, not trying to understand,
They cannot see how we can be happy or feel that life is grand,
When you try to tell them about the joy that you have found,
They turn away not wanting to hear truths joyful sound.

They wonder why our family seems so loving and kind,
A bond of love and friendship that is so hard to find,
But they will not give up the few things to find the right way
To be a forever family and strive to meet the Lord one day.

Let them call me fanatical or crazy, I do not really care
For putting God first in my life, I know He’ll always be there,
There to guide me with His hand, He’ll comfort me when low,
He’s just a short, sweet prayer away, He’s everywhere I go.
