LITTLE MISS TITTLE TATTLE
If you want the latest news, everyone knows where to go,
Off to Miss Tittle Tattle she’s the one who’ll surely know
All the local bits of gossip, all the spicy half true tales,
She knows all about everyone, her source never fails.
Yet, just think, would you have her as a friend?
Is she someone on whom you can safely depend?
If she say’s “Have you heard about Mary’s problem?
She is in trouble once again.” Should we even listen?
It takes two to make stories travel far and wide,
If we do not listen, we will have nothing to hide,
For the listener is as guilty as the one who spreads
The words that hurts people, causing bowed heads.
If there were no listeners, no Tittle Tattles would be found,
No vicious, mean rumours would fly cruelly around,
If someone starts to tell you a secret thing or two,
Tell them you don’t want to know, but thank-you.
Speak no evil and hear no evil should be friends of mine,
Keep them close beside you and you will land up fine,
But turn away from the tattle tales that you may hear,
Turn them quickly away, for Satan is very near.
