Come sleep and embrace me in your healing arms,
Fall soft and sweetly over both body and mind
That I may feel that gentle peace that calms
All ills and pain, come sleep, friend so kind.
Come fast and block out the worries of the day,
Free my mind of restless things that flow
Unwelcomed, please help them not to stay,
But cover my mind with your restful glow.
Come and rest this tired body in deep repose,
That I may awake and enjoy the new day ahead,
Not fitful sleep, where I toss and turn and doze,
But a slumber of a child after prayers are said.
Come to others who need a broken heart to heal,
To those who are sick and need your blessed rest,
Leave noone untouched by your arms, I appeal,
Stay this night through, so we may be truly blest
