WAITING AT THE TRAIN TRACKS

If you are in a hurry, the red lights flash and down come the bars,
Stopping all the trucks and many impatient people in cars,
It might be just a passenger train that comes rushing through,
All hope that it’s not a freight train, or we’ll be here an hour or two.

It crawls along so slow, then stops and goes the other way,
Turn off all the engines for here everyone will stay,
Some turn around, another route to try and find,
While the others sit planning things out in mind.

But I picked up a pen and on some paper wrote,
A poem, just for fun, and I’m pleased to note,
That as the little poem was all finished and done,
The slow old freight train had almost past and gone.
