EACH DAY THE SAME?
The pattern does not change at all,
The sun will rise come rain or shine,
And will set whether bright or dull,
And the moon come in her own time.
Yet in these hours of day and night
Each one of us needs to aim,
Make the most of time with all our might,
Not to be marked up for glory or fame,
But in some small way life improve
For others. Make a new friend or two,
Smile at someone, lend a helping hand,
A simple kind word will do.
Life is too short to waste away
In hated thoughts and vicious lies
Or cruel unseemly acts each day.
Stop for a moment when you arise
And ask yourself what youll do
To make the world a better place.
Then somehow youll be happier too.
