DO YOU BELIEVE IN FAIRIES?

Do you believe in fairies, gnomes and elves?
Have you sat in a fairies ring for a wish to bring?
Or gone to a wishing well? Or in deep forest dells
To try and hear the magic come when fairies sing?

I did when I was young, yet, now I’m old and wise,
Elves are things in books beautiful to behold,
Some magic only seen in a child’s bright eyes,
As a story by a loved one each night to be told.

Yet I wish there were creatures good and kind
That fight evil with the wave of a magic wand,
That sweet beauty of face and form we’d find,
Like fairies and elves and seal a special bond.

For in the world filled with evil and wickedness,
We need all the help we can get to fight each wrong,
So the help of an elf in green, a fairy in a pretty dress,
A wave of a magic wand would make me sing a song.

So maybe in the little people we should all believe
If it would make the world a much better place,
Keep an elf in your pocket or even up your sleeve
To ward away evil and put a smile on a sad face.
