DECORATING THE KITCHEN
This week we had a couple of free days to spare,
Being the end of April spring fever was in the air,
We made up our minds the kitchen to decorate,
It was looking rather drab, a start we did make.
Gingham green the walls quite delicate and pale,
It needed brightening, definitely green without fail,
We looked we wanted that which would bright our day
We wanted a rather bright, jolly green to come our way.
We looked through the charts at this shade and that
And it had to be semi glossy and not dull and flat.
I saw one that blended but did not seem bright enough,
Choosing the right green was going to be quite rough.
Then we saw this bright green, pretty as could be
On the small card, perfect in shade it seemed to me,
But when we started painting you should have seen
How very bright as bold was that pretty shade of GREEN!
GREENER than first spring grass that grows everywhere,
GREENER than the tee or green that golfers like to share,
The greeniest GREEN to be found graces our kitchen
I just wonder how long before new paint Ill be wishin
