        POIGNANT MOMENTS
I have been blest with being very soft hearted,
For simple scenes of beauty arouse deep in me
Poignant feelings of gratitude for God’s gifts,
And all the deep feelings that constantly lifts
Me to know that I am His child here on the earth,
And that dear friends is the gift of greatest worth.
I watched a little injured mouse struggle for breath,
It was a poignant moment, so I comforted it in death,
Holding it in my hand, feeling safe it struggled no more
Another poignant moment as I laid it on the cold floor.
A sun set with myriads of colours lit the evening sky,
And there silhouetted was a large eagle gliding by,
Who could not be moved by such beauty and grace,
Yet distress that few saw that sky show her lovely face.
A tender heart often opens the windows of the mind
And poignancy in many things quietly and simply find,
Seek for feelings that move the heart, that arouse sympathy
And you will know that deep within you belong to Deity.
