More poems about Writing Poetry

SOMETIMES
Sometimes you hear words in the whispering of the wind,
And not one single idea that comes does ever rescind .
The birds songs can bring messages that I can impart,
Words will flow like sweet water from my full heart.

Words and phrases tumble and fall like an avalanche,
It is hard to keep up with ideas and I then take a chance
That all the ideas will stay long enough for me to write,
Ideas when tidy in my mind wake me up in the night.

A cascading waterfall sends poems until they overflow
And I can keep writing as a long journey we have to go.
The beauty of a sunset can always awake inside me
Many lines of verse or prose, fast flows my poetry.

Yet on the odd occasion thoughts of mine seem blank,
I find that it is most upsetting to me, I must be frank,
Why should my thoughts be still when I want to write,
Surely there must be something to spark my appetite ?

Listen there’s the old clock chiming half past, in the hall,
Now that just reminded me of the time I was quite small,
A time of darkened streets and time of worry and fear,
Oh, thoughts of another poem is quickly drawing near.
