THE USEFUL THESAURUS
Sometimes the right word just won’t come,
Then open the thesaurus and have some fun,
The other day I looked up the word confuse,
I was surprised how many words I could use
It depends how you use it which words to choose
I will show you a few your mind a little to confuse,
How about befuddle! Bemuse! and discombobulate!
Not forgetting mixed up! Confounded! And abashed!
See how many different words I have already amassed.
There are more, but now why don’t you go and have a look,
Seek out the treasures in this very helpful, clever book.
Think of another word simple to seek easy as can be,
Come and go through those valuable pages and hunt with me.
A little word like ‘ keep’ and the many meaning that are there
Now to your thoughts these other words please now compare,
Are you ready and I will begin, with conform! Follow! Observe!
Honour! Obey! Comply! Respect! With others I will reserve.
Another treasure that the thesaurus hides in its many pages,
One that has been a great benefit to me for ages and ages,
The opposite is given which we think we may already know,
But the thesaurus will many more opposites to you show.
Opposite to keep, think for a moment, what could it be?
Discard! Forget! Relinquish! Surrender! Can you see
