TAKE HEED
It’s only a dream, I thought as I awoke,
Not really aware of the words I spoke,
It had been clear in every small way
That dream three times came to say,
Start locking the door, when you go out
Or change the lock, there is no doubt
That someone is planning to break in
Don’t encourage him to do this sin.
I saw the person just open the door,
He knew we were all out for sure,
He had a key or it was not locked,
To find no money he was shocked,
So in anger he just wrecked the place,
He should have seen the hate on his face.
It was Sunday when the third dream came,
Is this a warning or my mind playing a game?
Do I take heed of this warning so clear
Or ignore it and live on with some fear.
He was fairly tall, with a rather sallow skin,
Dark piercing eyes and much too thin.
Tomorrow do we buy a new front door
Or my warning dream shrug off and ignore?
