MUNCHING
When you are going on a very long trip,
There are lots of treats into which to dip,
Munchies, some quite healthy, some bad,
To save you from going a little mad.
Nibble a banana then have a candy bar,
Then some fizzy pop before very far,
Then good water, not too much to drink,
A long way between the pit stops you think.
Packed tight in the car, coasting along,
Writing poetry or singing a little song,
Swop over drivers to give one a little rest,
Stop somewhere pretty to stretch, thats best.
Hour after hour we drive, almost three days
To go, at the end the brain is in a daze,
Your car full of notes, stiff as can be,
Then at last your destination see.
Tiredness departs weariness gone
As you fall into the arms of your loved one,
Home at last all safe and sound,
So I dont mind munching homeward bound.
