I WAS A STRANGER
There are folks around this world so wide
That the true love of Jesus they cannot hide,
Willing to go with a stranger the extra mile,
Doing it happily with a kindly, loving smile.
We were strangers but you kindly took us in,
May the Lord bless your home, His glory win,
For you are the true sheep of His loving fold,
And one day I know His glory you will behold.
Some would be hungry and you fed them willingly,
What a wonderful example of true Christian charity
You are, we travelled far, your home you did share,
I know within these walls the Saviour is often there.
Thank you forever friends though we hardly met,
Thank you for the great example you have set,
One day without knowing He may be your guest,
Our door too is always open to let wanderers rest.
For the Cruikshank family.
