        ST GEORGE’S DAY 23RD APRIL
However long you have been across the briny sea,
Now Canada is home and where you want to be,
Yet Saints days can makes you a little home sick,
At least Patrick, Andrew and David, but alas alack ,
No one seems to bother about poor old George at all,
Yet he saved young maidens from fierce dragons an’ all.
I was born in England, came here years and years ago,
Seen shamrock on St Patrick’s day, don’t you know,
St Andrew’s you can buy a haggis as tasty as can be,
And lovely daffodils for St David are always in plenty,
But today is St Georges day no cards or signs are seen
No rose coloured ale in the pubs, but they do green
On St Patrick’s day, that does not seem very fair to me,
Who’s an English Brit and love old St George you see.
