SOUNDS
There are so many sounds in nature
That makes you glad to be alive,
From the sound of rain on leaves
To bees returning to the hive.
The sweet sounds of songbirds
Calling in raptures pure and clear,
The gentle splashing of small waves,
Then the evening breeze you hear
Whispering low in the tall trees.
The music of the rushing stream
As it draws near the water fall,
It seems like some far off dream,
The tumultuous water falls over rock
Like summer thunder, then peace,
Just the gentle lapping of the lake
On wooden dock or sandy beach.
The sound of wings cutting the air
As flocks of birds fly to and fro.
The howl of the hunting wolves,
The scurry of small feet on snow.
The solitary cry of the lonely loon
Calling for its life long mate.
But best of all the sounds I know.
A loved ones voice at the garden gate.
