SIMPLE THINGS

I love the simple things of life,
Bird song in the evening time,
Their multi coloured wings,
Geese flying line upon line.

I love to touch a velvet rose,
Kittens silky, soft and warm,
Gentle rain upon my face
And feel the mists of morn.

I love to see a sunset
With colours of every hue,
And see the tiny violets
In every shade of blue.

I love to smell the roses,
And hear the seas mighty roar,
And touch a brand new baby.
Hear a knock upon my door.

I love the simple things of life,
Things that don't cost a cent,
Things that are free to all men,
Things that make us content.
