STOP AND LOOK

There are many wonders in this world
That the good Lord has given to us,
And if we take time and look around
And for a short while stop the rush.
We will see the many gifts bestowed
By his all powerful, yet gentle hand,
All we need are eyes that really see
All the beauty in our precious land.
Oh please let us not take for granted
The beauty of a tree, the simple violet,
Or the grandeur of the mighty lakes
Or old friends or those newly met.

Let us gaze upon the lovely rose
And its perfect colour shape and form,
And notice all the shades of green
As you wonder with a loved one on your arm.
Can we really paint the beauty of the morning sky,
Or catch upon a canvass, the starlings shimmering hue,
Can we in our earthly life try create one scene
Of even the simplest pattern that creeps into our view.
As we sojourn here on this sweet world of ours,
Let us always contemplate as we view each glorious scene
That one day we will have a plan, for a world to make.
So take into our hearts the beauty that is most often seen.
