In the summer when the forests are rich and green,
If you are quiet many wondrous things can be seen.
A timid doe with her fawn warily eating the grass
And the great moose with her young will pass.
A squirrel, a chipmunk, mice and voles quite small
Will walk on the grassy floor, youll hear their call.
If by the stream you stroll, you may be lucky to find
A beaver or marmot, or a lynx just recently dined.
There is a saying that is very wise and very true,
That there are two things to take out with you
When you leave this treasure of shimmering green,
Photographs, and memories that will ever be seen.
For can man in his wisdom create another deer?
Or make a flower grow at this time of the year?
What can man give back to this paradise of green?
For the things he takes away will never be seen
By others who pass by this dearly treasured place.
So take a note book not a gun, a smile on your face,
Take a camera to shoot and leave things as found.
Leave with the memories then true joy will abound.
