More poems about Winter

        EARLY MORNING GIFT
I awoke this morning a wonderful sight to see,
For from my bedroom window right before me
Our flowering blossom tree covered in white,
Thickly coated in snow such a wonderful sight.

Down the road I glanced, each tree was the same
And out back there was a white forest a name
That came quickly to my mind as I looked in awe
At this late winter gift of beauty that I gladly saw.

Hoar frost had helped the snow cling to each tree,
Every branch and twig thickly bathed in white beauty,
Even the clothesline glittered in this winter white,
A lovely present on Sunday, it was a sacred sight.

For if there are seasons in heaven, winter will be like this,
No harshness just everything touched with God’s kiss
Of beauty for all to stop and gaze and marvel at awhile,
And now I long to see more beauty, so make my heart smile.

Welcome the world said this morn, to God’s holy day,
Come and see His beauty as you go to worship and obey,
Do not lie abed and miss this rare and glorious sight,
Arise and shine and so be filled with God sweet delight.
