FRESH FRUIT TIME
When August comes in, lush growth and sun
Brings the best of natures fruits now to come,
With raspberries, blueberries, tomatoes on the vine,
Plus the wild berries on which bears do love to dine.
Saskatoon berries easy to pick and so sweet to eat,
Along with other good berries that you may meet,
Remember that the bears have first pick for their lunch,
Don’t get in the way if they feel like berries to munch.
Berries mixed with peaches, make such a good treat,
Fresh fruit salad or delicious surprise pie make and eat,
I love this time of year when most fruit is at it’s best
And from jam and pie making you cannot take a rest.
