SUMMER NIGHTS
Although I love the summer’s warm days
With the hot sun, and it’s welcome rays,
I love all the flowers and grass so green,
All the different birds that can be seen.

There’s one thing I may complain about,
Though nothing can be done, so why shout,
That’s the heat that stays all night through,
It stops me from sleeping, how about you?

The days are fine can be as hot as can be,
You can go to airconditioned stores you see,
Walk by the lake and feel a little cool air,
Walk through sprinklers so cool off there.

But if your home is warm when it’s night
With the heat you may have a little fight,
The whir of the fan could keep you awake,
It’s not worth it, cool air it does not make.

Yes, I prefer the summer when the sun’s bright,
But it is in the winter time when I like the night,
I can snuggle up warm just my nose to show,
Then off to sleep in comfort I can always go.

But not in summer when the temperature is high
Up to the north pole for the night you want to fly,
But I’ll open the window wide, then try and doze,
Or stay up to keep writing poems and lots compose.
