GENTLE RAIN
Pitter, patter on the window
sounds the gentle rain,
It almost seems to be singing
a sweet melodic refrain.
The trees seem to welcome
that sweet sound
As the rain slowly softens
the frosted ground.
The rivers that now run free,
gurgle with delight,
Make their own music of joy,
a sound so bright.
The melodious sound of children
playing in the rain,
At last, springs first washing day
has returned once again.
Come gentle rain with your spring
song sounding so clear,
Every little rain drops that falls
bring sweet summer near.
