MORE THINGS FOR A WINTERS NIGHT
Stomping home through the heavy snow,
Once safely home, out you dont want to go,
But start a meal cooking, something they all like,
How about some fresh pickerel or northern pike.
Listen to the potatoes trying to get out of the pot,
They rattle the lid impatiently, saying Its hot.
The warm feeling in the kitchen warming the air,
The feeling of security when everyone is there.
It does not matter what is cooking in the pot,
As long as it tastes good and is nice and hot,
And the smell is inviting after the outside cold,
Then you know you are in the safety of the fold.
So on a cold winters night, let me cook a meal,
Fill the air with lovely fragrance and warm appeal,
Let the saucepan lids rattle singing there warm song
With a big pot of good stew you cant go wrong.
