ON A COLD WINTERS NIGHT
When the wind screeches, howls and whines,
And the falling snow lashes out and blinds,
Do you know what I really like to do at night?
First, build up a big fire all warm and bright,
The flames licking around a large apple log,
Hurry or the best spot is taken by the cat and dog.
Then, with just a little reading lamp softly lit,
And a good book and a cup of hot chocolate sit.
I love to hear the wind, as if he wants get warm,
Yet he is the main cause of this cold winter storm.
