ENDLESS SKY
Today is the kind of day when the sky
         above is a perfect blue,
The sun sails across her domain, not hidden
         from earthly view,
No clouds are seen anywhere, just lovely
        endless blue everywhere,
The day would be wonderful if is was not minus
        forty two out there.
The air almost crackles as you gaze upward
        at the endless sky,
Tears bedim the scene, but you can still see
        the great eagle fly
On the current of the cold air, wings seem
        frozen in their motion,
He glides in silent grace looking, waiting
        for any notion
That there is movement on the icy snow, death
        for one, food for another,
A cruel winter rules with hostility, no creature
        is a friend or brother.
But oh, that blue expanse of massive sky,
        a perfect cloudless scene,
And the misleading rays of the sun so pleasant
        and so warm that seem,
Until the need to venture forth into this cold
        day so very bright,
But please, enjoy the sky and sun but wrap up
so there is no frost bite.
