MORE SNOW
We do need lots more snow Lord, the lakes are too low,
The ground in hardly covered, plants will die you know.
The summer was dry, we did not have enough sweet rain,
So if its not too much trouble can some snow fall again?
We do need more snow, for the trails are hardly covered at all,
We cannot go fast there are rocks sticking up to make us fall,
At least the ice is thick enough to take a ski-do or fishing hut,
But the woodland trails need more snow to cover up each rut.
We do need more snow, for I want a snowman all big and tall,
I want to build an igloo and have all my friends come and call,
Snow angels I made for Christmas are still showing on the ground,
There is hardly an untouched patch of snow anywhere to be found.
The animals in the forests can still forage down to the grass,
Even by the road side there is food where many cars do pass,
The tree bark is still soft enough to make a wholesome meal,
Perhaps we should ask the wild animals just how they feel.
