LOW LYING CLOUDS
This morning the clouds seemed too heavy
to climb to the sky,
Dismal, dank dullness hid all things even
those close by,
The pretty lakes vanished into a total
grey nothingness,
Their pristine clarity completely hidden,
and I confess
That there is something missing when that
beauty is spoiled,
I know they are still there, yet those clouds
have me foiled.
Rise clouds and free us all from these mists
so very drear,
Rise from us so we can see the beauty
that is so near.
You clouds should not be earth bound,
but floating high,
Please make an effort and quickly waft
up to the sky.
The long road we travel is so dreary when
nothing is seen,
All shrouded in thick greyness where lakes
and trees had been.
My heart longs for my eyes to see all the
beauty that is there,
Not rolling clouds of grey dullness that
are just everywhere.
