PENDING STORM
Tiny little snow flakes slowly past my window fly,
Not enough to cover the ground or relieve the threatening sky,
The cold north wind tosses them all over the place,
Very slowly, cliffs are covered, there is white on each face.
The ravens sit in ominous clusters, each seem to wear a frown,
As if they are impatiently waiting for more snow to come down.
Could this be a blizzard pending? Will we have a bad storm?
Should we hurry out to shop then stay inside all cosy and warm?
Could these snowflakes grow larger then many more fall fast?
So clouds may be a warning that this storm will surely last.
So when we venture out this day we will not go too far,
For we do not want to be stranded in snow whilst sitting in the car.
But if we do have to wander, then well prepared we will go
With blankets, matches, candles and food for warmth against the snow.
