1. WHATEVER THE WEATHER
The rain tapped on my window, the wind blew the trees,
Everywhere was damp and cold, no warm summer breeze
Wafted gently at the start of this seemingly miserable day,
Yet we had things to do so we would have to go on our way.

Although the weather isn’t good, rain soaks you right through
Even walking outside for a short while, so what can one do?
Just smile and enjoy the fun that cold the wet rain can bring,
Get soaked through, then go home, rub down, light a fire and sing.

If that’s too hard for you to do, ignore it and it will go away,
Not right this very moment, but when the sunshine’s one day,
This rainy time will be forgotten in that bright shining sun,
And if you have been cheerful in the rain a battle you have won.

We cannot choose the weather, that would not work at all,
For some people want sunshine others need the rain to fall,
So as we look out of the window at the morning outside,
Live life to the full, and the joy of true living never hide.
