IS AUTUMN COMING?
Was that a nip in the air this morning,
The sun rays not as warm and strong?
Look! birds that leave early are gathering,
No longer singing their sweet melodic song.
Can we see the first hint of leaves changing
From green to gold, yellow brown or red?
Summer stay, too soon you are departing,
Continue on us your lovely bounty spread.
Yet you have served us long and well this year,
And in so doing farewell is a hard this to say,
To me the birds have sung sweeter, I hear
Their melody at the start of each bright day.
I feel thy warm breath caress my face and hair,
Myriads of fragrant flowers dance at my feet,
Their perfume grace the gentle evening air
And warm nights to greet me as I sleep.
Yet autumn will come in her special beauty,
Clothed in such a richness so bright and fair
That lovely summers fading is quite pain free,
So I dont really mind the first nip in the air,
