KIND OF DAY
Today is the kind of day you dream of
in a winter storm.
The breeze is sweet and gentle, the
sun is nice and warm,
Not too hot that it steals strength and
you don’t want to work,
But a day, no matter what you do, you
don’t want to shirk.

Today is the kind of day you hope comes
on your holiday,
See those clouds how they do dance
in such a playful way,
Imagine how the waves would roll
as they hit the rocky shore.
Or sitting on the smooth sand building
sand castles galore.

Today is the kind of day that is good
to do anything,
The type of day that so many blessings
it can bring,
It started with some warm life giving
refreshing rain,
Humidity went away and the sun shone
warm and bright again.

So I’ll savour this day and remember it
in winter’s cold,
Remember those fluffy clouds, the warm
breeze that blowed,
Then when the cutting wind of ice and snow
freezes hand and face,
I’ll remember this wonderful day that came
to me so full of grace.
