HAZY HOT AND HUMID
Hot summer days should be very lazy days,
Days when the fewest things should be done,
Holiday days, on a clean sandy beach days,
Splashing in cool water having lots of fun.
But we have to work, do things around the house,
We all have things that daily we really ought to do,
Some have air conditioning, they should not grouse,
The rest of us will just sweat the whole day through.
I try not to grumble on days that are very hot,
Just look forward to sweet gently falling rain,
Make the most of summer, moan I will not,
For all too soon cruel winter will come again.
I then remember freezing days, everywhere so cold,
Driving through winter storms, clearing away the snow.
So welcome, lazy, hazy, hot, humid days so very bold,
Come and all your welcome heat down on us throw.
