HOT AND HUMID

When it is hot and humid we welcome a cooling breeze,
From the heat, that moving air gives us a little ease,
you welcome the sound of the wind that makes leaves rustle,
Especially if the hot day has been all hustle and bustle.

It is always cooler by the lake when summer is at it’s height,
You wish you were a kid again, the cooling waves to fight,
At least you can walk along the water edge to cool your feet,
You don’t mind if you get wet as the gentle waves you meet.

What about the sprinklers! They cool you down the best,
You have to watch out, it depends on how you’re dressed,
When the day has been extra hot a cooling thing to do
Is to put on old clothes, find sprinklers to go and run through.

We could take a nice holiday, where there’s no work to be done,
Sit by the breezy ocean and cool off from the heat of the sun,
Sip on an ice cream float and rest or find other lazy things to do,
Gaze at the sand, boats and ships or across the ocean blue.

But if that is out of the question and you don’t have a pool,
Wander around the local mall, air conditioning keep you cool,
You need not spend one dime, unless you feel you need a drink,
It’s much cheaper than a holiday at a sun-drenched beech I think.

Let us not grumble about humid weather, or moan about the heat,
Just remember the long winter months with frozen hands and feet,
Soak up those rays of that pleasant warming summer sun,
Treasure it every day, before another nasty cold winter does come.
