FREED LEAVES
Sometimes you may think it a blessing
to have a late autumn snow-fall,
It covers up all the fallen leave fast,
you dont see them at all.
The thought of those leaves fades
as the snow piles up so high.
There are more things to think about
as the storm clouds cross the sky.
Then, little by little the snow melts
and soon has gone away,
Then up come all those forgotten leaves
hidden for many a day.
Soon spring brings her smile, and a playful
breeze, as warm and frisky as can be.
Then prancing and dancing come the leaves,
at last they have been set free.
Look how they skitter across the street,
almost laughing as they go,
They dance in happy pairs and clusters,
skipping like children too and fro.
Now I look back and wish I had found
those leaves at the end of the year,
For like everything else thats around today,
they have caught a bout of spring fever.
Yet it is fun to watch them dance and play
after being tucked coldly away
We have caught some, but I think well let
the others have a longer play.
