RESTFUL SLEEP
Restful sleep, come and my heart calm,
Seal my eyes so I shall feel free from harm,
Spread thy sable cloak to totally cover me
In thy kind arms that heal so very tenderly.
Restful sleep, harbinger of dreams so sweet,
Come swiftly to my body, a great need to meet,
Wipe away from my heart and weary mind
Dark and frightening thoughts of every kind.
Restful sleep be my guest through the night,
Stay with me as the hours of subdued light
Stay, until the sun once again her journey take,
So be ready to serve others well when I awake.
