        LEARNING TO WALK
Walking with stumbling strides, always willing to go on,
Every step and conquest, every single footfall a battle won,
A little child learning to walk, then it happens so very fast,
Those stumbling, tumbling days are over all too soon past.

We did not stop them striding out, though they would fall,
We knew they had to keep trying or they’d never walk at all,
All through life we need to strike out at many a new challenge,
Never be just content to stay within your cosy comfort range.

Set goals that make you stretch, so grow as you try to succeed,
Be willing to risk failure, try to be better, be willing to lead,
A kind of life that makes you a better person at the end of a day,
Lead you heaven bound, working hard along the hard trodden way.

Be willing to fall and struggle hard as you did as a little child,
To gain new experience people may think you are a little wild.
Use every talent the Lord has given you, be willing to try and fail,
How else would you know or have the strength to fight a gale?

Those who try and fall, but get up to keep trying again and again,
Are the folks with strong backbones who are not afraid of pain,
Who will find in this life their limitation and what they can do,
Watch a child take it’s first step, fall down get up and pull through.
