DO YOU KNOW
As you play your music do you know
The great blessings that so gently flow
From deft fingers over keys or string?
How a heart wants to join in and sing.
Do you know the power of your music,
As the sound, like warming flames lick
And melt a cold heart, do you know
Of the gentle strength that can flow?
Your talent oozes from within, embracing
With sweet loving affection, those listening,
Music lulling, caressing, with a healing touch
Those who heed, and are blessed so much.
Is music like mercy, blesses those who play
As well as those who listen in a special way?
Joy filling all who participate in a musical feast
So can calm within man the angry or wild beast.
Play on sweet musicians, let the notes swell,
Fill us with sweet content, feed us all well,
Let the sound capture the spirit of peace and love
That can glow from the music of heaven above.
